Meet Crystal, stylist and owner of HALO, a salon by Cabin Red.
Crystal Harper, a NWA native, opened her business in September of 2009. This was a desire she always had but didn’t necessarily plan to open up in the middle of a recession. Thankfully, her grandparents let her take out a loan by using their home for collateral. It’s mind-blowing to think that her grandparents would risk losing their home if her salon didn’t thrive. After months of phone calls, checking in to see if she was able to make the payment, she reassured her memaw that if anything she would lose her home first and just move in with them.
She married her husband, Drew Harper, in July 2013. After 3.5 years of infertility they chose to take the IVF route. 3 individual rounds, 7 years later and 3 sweet little miracles, they completed their family. During the midst of the last IVF round in 2022, she knew her contract was almost expired and had wished for relocating her salon to the pinnacle area. She started her career in that area and always aspired to build her salon in that space.
With a lot of prayers, a few connections and a fair amount of patience contracts were signed and that’s how HALO by Cabin Red a Salon was born, officially on May 30, 2024.
